Why ‘Finding Balance’ is the Secret Ingredient to a Happy Life

As days get longer and time gets slower, the lockdown doesn’t seem to end. This pandemic especially has a way of eating our souls while we’re alive. I haven’t stepped out of the house in 4 months. You must be thinking I'm crazy but the truth is, we all are, at some point in life. The question is what do we do to escape this trauma?

To this, I found the answer recently. A close friend of mine calls me up everyday and we both seem to be sailing on the same boat. We feel like the whole world is stuck and there’s no way out. Then I told him, Balance is an important aspect.

For me, it seems to be working wonderfully well. I cuddle my pet, spend enough time with my partner and find time for my mental health too. There are a lot of ways we can get over this feeling of inadequacy.

Reiki

If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend you to get acquainted with Reiki. It’s an absolutely beautiful feeling to be able to heal others while having mental peace for yourself. I have been practising Reiki for over a year now and it’s an out of the world experience.

Don’t know where to start?

  • Read this about Reiki and its benefits on health.

  • Once you’re sure about it, contact a practitioner nearby.

Warning: Do not fall prey to scams. Please verify the source. It’s better to go through mutual contacts. I found my Practitioner through my friend.

  • Take a step by step process. Once you’re done with Level 1, wait for a while to move forward. During this time you need to train your body and mind to get accustomed to the process.

  • Keep practising daily although do not over do it.

  • There might be health issues while starting out but that's nothing to worry since it’s the negative vibes which is getting cleared because of the energies.

Music

If you ever feel low and saddened by circumstances, listen to the Solfeggio frequencies. These frequencies are ancient in nature rediscovered by Dr. Joseph Puleo in 1974. The 7 tone electromagnetic frequencies calm your mind giving you and your home positive vibrations. It’s interesting to note that music as therapy has been undertaken in the ancient civilizations. In today’s world, music is used as an expressive arts therapy to maintain physical, psychological and emotional well being. Music can help you heal and that’s why it’s important you take up the habit as soon as possible.

Shopping

Some people take resort to shopping as means of finding peace and regaining confidence. Compulsive shopping has been a sign of depression, anxiety and negative emotions. However, this could also be a way to release stress and find clarity. One of my friends used to tell me that she loves to shop whenever she was faced with a messy situation. This has helped her find balance and get back on track.

Time outside of Technology

I have been addicted to my phone ever since I started freelancing. My mind would always cling to working and making my time more productive. My email tab would be open and phone on ring mode. I didn’t like wasting my time doing anything else until I realised the adverse effects it had on me. I lost sleep and spent no time with the people who mattered.

Then I decided to put down the damn technology, play with my pets, talk to my partner and things fell in place. My mood improved 10x more. I felt positive and peaceful. It’s highly important to balance time, especially when using gadgets. Sometimes these effects are irreversible.

These are some of the ways I found effective to brighten up any kind of day. Remember,

  • You are loved

  • You are worthy of everything

  • Your life is great

  • You will achieve your dreams

  • Everything will be fine

Nothing matters more than your mental health and well being. Put everything aside and enjoy the time we have now. Just like the pandemic, tomorrow might be different. So, what if you don’t have the time or resources to meet your loved ones? Or go to the job you like? Or travel the world? Make the most of it today.

This too shall pass and we’ll be up and running like always annoying the bricks out of one another for a lifetime. Patience is key and don’t lose hope and succumb to pressure. You are lovely and you deserve nothing but happiness!
